We didn’t just aim to create the best literature display—we aimed to revolutionize it entirely.
We reimagined the literature holder with the user in mind. By transitioning from heavy steel trays to lightweight injection-molded plastic, we were able to reduce the product’s weight by around 5kg. This made the holder far easier to transport and set up, eliminating a key user pain point.
The new design also created a unique aesthetic that strikes a perfect balance: it’s distinct enough to look modern and high-quality, but simple enough to let a customer’s branding take center stage. This customer-focused approach resulted in a class-leading product with strong global sales.
Initially, our product evaluation showed limited ways to cut costs without harming functionality and durability. We solved this by adopting a user-first approach, which focused on improving the product while simultaneously lowering production costs.
Through user feedback, we discovered the main pain points were ease of use, weight, and aesthetics. Using an iterative design method to refine the mechanism. The result was a smooth, intuitive pop-up and pop-down action, which reduced the fear of trapped fingers and significantly improved the overall user experience.
