This lightweight anti-slip mat was designed to provide a temporary clean surface for use across changing rooms, gyms, travel and other everyday environments. Measuring 55cm x 42.5cm x 2.5mm and weighing just 138g, it was developed to feel easy to carry and simple to use, while delivering strong performance on wet tiled floors.
To achieve this, Mouse developed a unique laminated material stack that combined grip, top-surface absorbency, waterproof protection, low weight, insulation, packability and quick-drying performance. The final material package used a brushed polyester top surface with an ultra-thin textured neoprene base, creating a product that felt both functional and refined.

Starting from a project that needed to be recovered, Mouse rebuilt the development process from the ground up. The main challenge was material selection, identifying the right combination of properties to deliver all the required performance without compromising weight, feel or appearance.
We carried out several rounds of material review, multiple prototype rounds and three factory sample rounds to refine the final product. Each stage included detailed testing of grip, absorbency, waterproofing, weight, compression and tactile feel. Mouse also sourced the manufacturing partner and managed the project through development and production, allowing the client to move to order with confidence once the product was complete.
Alongside the product itself, Mouse developed the MMAATT branding, packaging and labelling, while also considering shipping efficiency and material utilisation through the final product format. Launched in 2024, the project is a strong example of Mouse’s ability to solve technically demanding soft-goods challenges and deliver where others could not.
