In the pursuit of better performance, every detail matters. This collaboration with Carbon Endurance Components (CEC) and Berd set out to challenge one of cycling’s most enduring designs—the spoked wheel. Combining CEC’s Innegra-reinforced carbon rims with Berd’s Dyneema textile spokes, we explored how advanced materials and clever engineering could redefine ride quality, durability, and ease of manufacture. Through prototyping, testing, and refinement, we helped transform a promising concept into a practical, high-performance system—proving that even the most established technologies can be reinvented.
Using 3D CAD we developed a pair of hubs light enough for endurance gravel athletes, yet strong enough for off road mountain bike adventures. The key was to optimise the wheel strength by straightening the tension forces passed through the wheel whilst simplifying the build process.
