The idea for Mouse first sparked when Rich was at Brunel University, earning a first-class honours degree in Industrial Design and Technology. After gaining invaluable experience designing products for big-name brands like Pyranha Kayaks and Gelert Tents, he worked on Smurfit Kappa’s innovation team before setting up Mouse in 2014. Mouse was born to blend Rich’s love of outdoor sports with game-changing eco-friendly product design.
With a hands-on approach to technical fabric design and a passion for sustainable packaging, you’ll often find Rich carefully crafting prototypes on the sewing machine or laser cutter. Away from work, he’ll be surfing his sea kayak off Anglesey or bouldering with the kids.
Bringing 30 years of product development experience to the table, Ben has been powering new products since the 90s, when he used his talents to fund a degree in Product Design, Marketing & Innovation. After working for everything from start-up tech companies to multinational exhibitions and point-of-sale products, he moved to Asia in 2015. Here, he spent 6 years working closely with manufacturers, gaining both a deep knowledge of the process and an invaluable network of contacts.
Ben brought all of this newfound knowledge back to Mouse, where he now serves as our resident plastics, castings and DFM (design for manufacture) expert. He’s also a CAD wizard, but when he’s not behind the computer screen, you’ll find him in his kayak or chasing his kids around the forest on their bikes.
