At Mouse Design, we use product design to bring people together. Design is not only about creating products. It is also a way to strengthen relationships, our blow-moulded pavement sign concept is a clear example of this, let us explain…
Our client was starting a new relationship with a blow moulding manufacturer. To support this, we created a concept design that showed how design and manufacturing can work hand in hand.
The aim was simple: use design to build trust and show what the partnership could achieve.
The banner is based on a key feature of blow-moulded parts: they are hollow.
We used this to our advantage.
This idea pushed both user expectations and manufacturing norms, showing the strengths of the blow-moulding process.
To reduce tooling costs, the left and right components of the base are identical. This decision showed the manufacturer that we understood their process and respected their needs.
The whole sign packs down into a compact shape for storage and shipping.
These choices make the product easier for real users and demonstrate thoughtful, collaborative design.
This project shows how product design can help teams work better together.
By exploring new ideas in blow moulding and challenging what a pavement sign can be, the concept became more than a product. It became a shared milestone for our client and their manufacturing partner.
If you want to use product design to strengthen partnerships, explore new ideas, or push the limits of manufacturing, we’d love to help.
